1166267 No.5313

"Nakayoku ne" is a 2-part story in Aoko's collection Restless Kiss. Raws are available, and I've translated both chapters as well.

hi,
if you have time and will, I would love to know how "mind over" ends (there is a few more posts down)
The second and last part is still without translation :(

>> No.5373

I’d like to edit this but would it be alright if I don’t remove/edit the sfx. Just all the dialogues and side text?

>> No.5374

>>5373

I think so? I just translated all the sfx and moans and such for the sake of completeness. In some past projects like https://yuriproject.net/in-the-rain-and-cold/ the editor did all the SFX, but in https://yuriproject.net/i-may-to-u/ or https://yuriproject.net/lovely-onee-chan/ most of them are left as-is. So I don't really know what the usual policy is.

>> No.5375

>>5374 I’ll do it with all the dialogues first. Thank you.

>> No.5376

>>5374

According to http://wiki.yuriproject.net/guidelines , the guideline is to " SFX: either replace the SFX entirely, or arrange the translated SFX next to the original Japanese ones (font close to the original Japanese font)." The example they give of arranging the translation next to the sound effect is http://i.imgur.com/qnzfU.png . This is commonly known as "Del Reying" the sound effects, as the practice was established by the Del Rey publishing company (whose manga division is now published under the name "Kodansha").

But if you don't want to touch the sound effects at all, I don't think that would stop the work from being released.

So my plans sort of fell through. The second chapter is cleaned but the person working on the first chapter wants out. Would you be willing to work on this?

The second chapter is already cleaned.

Yeah, I'll work on this. If the second chapter's already cleaned, that makes my job easier. I actually tried my hand at this when you first posted this. But I kept encountering a redrawing issue so I gave up. Perhaps after these couple years, I have acquired more experience to deal with that problem. Here's to hoping.

Okay, thank you very much. I think I have a few completed pages from the other person who was working on the first chapter. I will add those to the link when I get them.

I encountered the same issue as I had the first time, but it didn't seem as bad as it was then. Maybe I'm just more patient(?) now.

There are some untranslated texts. Three on pg20. I thought there were more but I can't find anything else after flipping through the pages. Well, I left alone the Japanese texts for those with no translation if there happen to be anymore.

I also put pg4 in the link, which was not translated. If you wanted to do so, then I could typeset it. Otherwise, I guess it won't be included in the release.

There's untranslated text on pg20, panel 1, first bubble.

Also an untranslated sfx on pg4, panel 2.

Okay, I made Mitsuka's greeting on pg14 the same font (komika jam) as on pg7 and pg10. I hope that is what you meant.

About the credits, page, did you use the cleans I uploaded for the first few pages of chapter 1? If so, could you add "Hijacker54" to the credits?

I had forgotten to ask about that. I did indeed used both sets of PSDs and had added 'anonymous' to the credits.

Fixed now.

My apologies; I was trying to suggest a conversion in the opposite direction. I think the font you originally used on pg 14 should be used on pg 07 and 10, as well.

This time around, I noticed a lot more random, small typographical issues, so I've noted them here. Also, QC for the sequel.

>> No.5594

For reasons, I do not have Photoshop at the moment. I have included the PSDs to the Google link. So if someone wanted to make Multiball's changes, then they are welcome. Otherwise, it will take me some time to acquire Photoshop. Sorry for any inconvenience.

>> No.5595

>>5593

sees a bunch of 'hyphen to emdash' changes

Are hyphens even a thing anymore lol

Untranslated SFX on pg44 panel 2. Thankfully, there was a change on that page. Otherwise, I would've forgotten about it completely.

So I didn't quite get Photoshop since their subscription was killing my wallet. I'm trying out Affinity Photo. The PSDs didn't quite convert 100%. I had to re-level everything and some of the fonts didn't...roll over. I think I caught and fixed all of those.

Also, the first couple PSDs for the first part are, like, gone. I realized that I put the wrong files into the google folder and I no longer have the original, completed (cleaned & typesetted) PSDs. So, editing those pages took a bit more work.

Overall, I hope the updated pages don't look too different than the other ones, quality-wise. Exporting in Affinity isn't as elaborate as in Photoshop.

Shoot, I forgot to do this. I’ll fix this later today.

Ok, I updated the link. It was actually pg13. I don't exactly remember the font I had used for the particular dialogue in question. I think it was A Year Without Rain. Let me know if you like that font.

Hyphens are still a thing. I even left a few in place for typographical reasons when strict consistency would dictate that they be replaced, as well.

That said, I think I noticed a few that I missed the second time through, as well, along with some overburdened ellipses and a missing page.

Your struggle with your software makes your efforts on this one particularly valiant. Thank you for all your work.

Whoops. Thankfully, the psd was in the drive. Otherwise, I would've had to reclean it, and I would have not been excited to do that.
